I just thought I'd just share a funny thing that happened to me the other day...
Okay, so I was WAY nervous with school. I mean, new people, new place, and new teachers. Not to mention new curriculum, new school supplies, and a new locker (I've never had one before!)
My mom decided she would encourage me with the help of the Scriptures.
So she directed me to read Isaiah 47.
I sort of knew what her intentions were, and she seemed to honestly excited and genuine, so I picked up a Bible and started reading...
Here's some of what I saw:
"5 "Sit in silence, go into darkness,
Daughter of the Babylonians;
no more will you be called
queen of kingdoms. "
"11 Disaster will come upon you,
and you will not know how to conjure it away.
A calamity will fall upon you
that you cannot ward off with a ransom;
a catastrophe you cannot foresee
will suddenly come upon you. "
Okay, so there's just a taste. You can imagine my reaction, right?
My eyes got bigger and bigger as I read on. When I finished the whole passage, I was pretty freaked out.
I went to find my mom, and she greeted me with a smile.
MOM: "So, *Prism*, did you like it?"
ME: "Like it?! What were you trying to say here?"
MOM: "What do you mean???"
So I showed her what I had read... and of course, she realized her mistake.
My mom had wanted me to read Isaiah chapter 43.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze
5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.
So different, right? You may want to read the whole chapters if you want to, to see what I read exactly.
We had some laughs yesterday, my family and I.
AND we've all learned a lesson- Get your references right!!!

LOL! That is hilarious! Have you ever heard of Tim Hawkins, the Christian Comedian? Well, the same thing happened to him, except, he's the one who gave the preference! LOL =D!
