Adoption
My family is in the process of adopting one or two children from India. We have completed our home study and are now awaiting the referral. In the meantime, my parents have a huge book about the thickness of a Bible to fill out. I have been praying for whoever will join our family in the future. Whoever he/she/them are, I already love them. Just like my family will have an adopted child in our family, I am an adopted child into God's family. My dad are I are close and I love him ever so much and it is amazing to know that our Heavenly Father's love is greater and wider than I can comprehend! He sent his Son to die on the cross for me, a sinner!

That's so cool! My family is also praying about adoption. We had hoped to bring home a baby girl from Brasil but because of complications with the American Government while trying to get a visa for the child it doesn't look like it is going to work out. My parents are really seriously praying about adopting an infant from a place here in the states in GA that they heard about from a friend.
That's so cool about your family considering adoption! It's true that local adoptions are easier than international adoptions. We did consider it for a time, but we were soon sure that God had called us to adopt a baby/babies from India. My parents had always wanted to adopt a child, and one day in the India news we saw that a beautiful little baby girl had been abandoned in a theater, and it all started from there. We won't be able to adopt her since we don't live in India, but it will still be awesome having more kids in the house. Ever since then, we have been seeing the word adopt everywhere! Our church even started an adoption fund for families, and they didn't even know about us! I'll be praying for your family as you pray for what God plans for you!
Our family also has a huge heart for international adoptions. My mom has always wanted to adopt from China, ever since she was a little girl. In more recent years she prayed about adopting from Africa. We have never really considered adopting from the USA because it is hard for families that already have a lot of kids (like us) to get a child. This whole thing in GA just happened to come up. They are having a hard time placing the bi-racial babies there so we could get a baby within months!
I'll pray for your family as well.
Wow that's amazing! Our process could take years, so we have to be really patient. In China they are really restricting adoption from outside China. They don't want to let kids out to foreign people. It's the same case in India. So yeah. It'll be great to watch as the adoption process for both of our families continue!
I'll be praying for you and your family.
We know someone who just adopted from China. When they started the process they were told the wait would be less than a year. It took over two years! Now it has slowed up even more. Agencies are telling people over two years.
As for my family. We still don't know anything for sure but if we do decide to adopt from the place in GA it will be a very short wait!
