Randomness Friday: You Didn't See Anything! *Frantically Hides Post*

(Thanks Libby!)

Okay, y'all. You never saw a post entitled "Review of Katy's New World". You never saw my review of the Katy Lambright series. *Waves hands around like the penguins in "Madagascar"* You didn't see anything....

Okay?

*sigh* Who am I kidding? You, my friend, saw into the future files of A Girl of Many Colors.

It was blogger's fault, I tell you! It leaked my post before its appointed time!!!!

Okay, okay, it was probably my fault. When I write reviews, I space them out so that AGoMC will have some balance of random posts, video posts, book posts, ect.

What probably happened is that I put the wrong date at the bottom of the post which will again make an appearance on...

*drumroll*

Monday

Now, of course, not all of my posts are prewritten. Take this one, for example. It seems to be that all of my written-in-the-moment posts seem to be the most crazy-random....

Me? Crazy?! Random?!

I know.... It's a shock to humankind.
~*~

Now that you have seen what you were not supposed to until the future, I might as well let you know what's coming up as for book reviews...

Sounds good? =)
~*~

So for the past couple of days I've had this big sinking feeling. Like I'm forgetting something or there's something really sad in my life I'm forgetting. I have no clue, but it's bugging me like anything.

Has anyone else felt like this???
~*~

Anyone have any cool weekend plans?

I cannot believe summer is ending so fast! I mean, this weekend my family is going school shopping- which is our biggest shopping event of the year. Granted, we don't go far out with spending and unnecessary stuff, but it 's still fun!
Annnnnd! :) I get to go horseback riding!
I can't even begin to explain how free it makes me feel. An unexplainable joy- endless as the sky above us.
Way too cool.

But, I try to explain it like this:

Man + Dog = Friendship
Girl + Horse = Bliss

Interview: Emii!

This week I have the honor to interview the owner of a blog I have followed for quite some time- Emii! Emii is the blogkeeper of Girlz 4 God, which I highly recommend checking out!

What are you waiting for? Go check it out!

Oh, but after reading the interview, you remember. ;)

~*~
Prism: What would you say is your favorite food?
Emii: This question stumps me all the time...I'm going to say

Prism: Haha, good asnwer! Have you ever laughed so hard that you couldn't stop? Why?
Emii: YES. On school camp last year, me and one of my friends, Kayley, were sitting on her bed -- laughing. I don't know what about, but we were laughing our heads off. Almost literally. Nothing was funny. It was just funny.

Prism: What is your favorite/ life verse?
Emii: Psalm 62:8 -- "Trust in him at all times, O People. Pour out your hearts to him, for God is your refuge." As silly as it may look, it hangs on my wall, all by itself, and instead of "O People" I wrote "Emily". (I used to have posters, but I got sick of looking at Justin Bieber and Nick J and everyone all the time;))

Prism: Buffet or sit-down dinner?
Emii: Buffet.

Prism: Favorite color?
Emii: Purple & lime green!:)

P: Hey, same here! :) What do you post about the most on your blog?
E: I post about a lot of things -- stuff that's happening in my life, book reviews, music, "Lessons in Life" (Lessons about God, the Bible and how we live), mini-interviews (Interviews with authors and other people) and some other things.:)

P: Any pets?
E: Yupp -- a huge, fat, fluffy cat I call Jimmy-Jay!!

P: What is the coolest place you have ever visited?
E: Coolest place...probably Wine Glass Bay, a beach in Tasmania. The most beautiful beach I've ever seen, even if we did have to go on the longest walk ever to see it!:)

P: Wow, that is pretty incredible. When did you first decide to start blogging?
E: In grade 6 (Two years ago) in computer class, we had to start a blog. I love it more than anyone in the class, and started Girlz 4 God in January last year.

P: Favorite Christian movie?
E: Hmm... I can't think of any from the top of my head...The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe {The new version}.

P: Thank you so much, Emii!
E: Thanks for interviewing me, Prism!:))
~*~

Books That I'm Looking Forward To!

The following books will soon be released this year. I absolutely cannot wait to read them! I've ranked my desire to read them starting with:

1. The Healer's Apprentice by Melanie Dickerson. Isn't the cover amazing? This book will be released by Zondervan in September of this year.

About the book (from Zondervan's website):

Synopsis:
In this book by author Melanie Dickerson, the story of Sleeping Beauty is retold through the life of Rose, the young daughter of a woodcutter, who has fallen in love with the perfect man for her, only to be kept away from him due to a curse.

Ages: 15-18

2. Tournaments, Cocoa, & One Wrong Move by Nancy Rue. This book is the third book in the Real Life series. From my knowledge of the past two books (I have reviewed them here and here), you can pick up with this series on any book. Tournaments, Cocoa, & One Wrong Move will be published by Zondervan September 2010!

About the book (from Zondervan's website):

Synopsis:
Tournaments, Cocoa & One Wrong Move, the third book of author Nancy Rue’s Real Life series for teen girls, follows Cassidy Brewster, a driven athlete who will do anything to stay on top. After an injury, and a subsequent mistake that could ruin her athletic career, she finds support in the most unlikely places—including a room filled with juvenile delinquents and the pages of an old book labeled “RL.”

Ages: 13-16

Go here to learn more!

3. Masters & Slayers by Bryan Davis. This is the adult companion series to the Dragons of Starlight series published by Zondervan. This book will be released in September 2010 by AMG publishers.

From the author's blog:

This is the first book in the adult companion series to Dragons of Starlight. Although it's designed for adults, it's suitable for teenagers as well. For those of you who have read Starlighter, this story follows the adventures of Adrian, Jason's older brother, as he and Marcelle seek to rescue the slaves on the dragon planet, Dracon. You do not have to read Starlighter to enjoy Masters & Slayers, and readers of Starlighter don't have to read Masters & Slayers to continue in the Dragons of Starlight series, but reading both series will enhance your understanding of the story world.

Go here to learn more!

Wow. Are you as excited as I am, folks????

Blessings,

P.S. This is my first post from my superdeeduper laptop!

Review of So Over It

So Over It by Stephanie Morrill is the final book in the Reinvention of Skylar Hoyt series. Skylar has just finished high school, and she's at crossroads in her life. She wants a completely new life, away from her ex-boyfriend, dysfunctional family, and a dark, dark secret. But when she gets what she wants, Skylar realizes that God might have a different plan.

I liked the writing style of the author. The main character, Skylar, comes across as being very relatable. Through the many difficulties in her life, Skylar pushes through and tries to be Christian in her actions. With the help of good friends, her boyfriend, and God, Skylar finds healing from a very traumatic event in her life.

There were several things that I didn't like in So Over It, but all of them were portrayed as being negative. This book does deal with some rough topics, so I probably would advise that parents read the book through before letting their girls read So Over It. There are drugs, drinking, smoking, teen pregnancy, and, to put it delicately, a girl being taken advantage of by a guy. So, there are a lot of big issues in this book, and, again, I recommend some caution for gals and their parents.

Randomness Friday: Prism Interviews Herself...

(Thanks Libby!)

PRISM: Welcome everyone to this very... unique Randomness Friday. You see, I'm going to interview myself. Let's hope it's not disastrous.

PRISM: Get on with it, already. I don't got all day.

PRISM: Okay, Prism, how are you?

PRISM: Uh, I'm okay, I guess.

PRISM: Just...okay?

PRISM: *squirms* Yeah...

PRISM: Uh-huh... *squints* You sure about that?

PRISM: OF COURSE I AM!!! *pants* Now, please continue with the interview.

PRISM: Okay, let's start with question numero uno. Favorite color?

PRISM: Easy. Purple. Oh, and green, and blue, and yellow... Then there's black and white and...

PRISM: Okay, then! Next question. Last book you read?

PRISM: Always Watching by Brandilyn and Amberly Collins. Oh, it was so good. Suspenseful, intriguing, enthralling... You see, it's about-

PRISM: Please, Prism. Simple question, simple answer.

PRISM: Oops, sorry. *smiles* But it is a good book.

PRISM: I know. So, what have you been up to?

PRISM: Looking at scholarships, applying for scholarships, getting headaches over scholarships, crying over lost scholarships, wishing I won certain scholarships, and planning for future scholarships.

PRISM: So... scholarships?

PRISM: Yup. Pretty much.

PRISM: How do you feel about college?

PRISM: NO! DON'T SAY THE "C" WORD! In all honesty, it scares me like anything! But, *deep breath* God's in control and I'm working hard. We'll see where He leads me.

PRISM: Good attitude. Keep it up.

PRISM: I'm doing my best.

PRISM: So, what are you doing right now?

PRISM: Well, I'm interviewing myself. I'm also listening to TobyMac (LOVE HIS MUSIC!!!), trying not to watch the movie my sister's watching, and wishing I had some watermelon.

PRISM: Watermelon?

PRISM: Yeah, it's my love in life. But it can't just be any watermelon. The good kind is super crunchy with a sweet flavor, but it can't be too sweet. In fact, I'll be right back. I'm going to go get some.

PRISM: Nope.

PRISM: What? WHY?!

PRISM: You only get it once you finish this.

PRISM: Are you blackmailing me?

PRISM: No. Because, technically, you can't blackmail yourself.

PRISM: True. So any other questions?

PRISM: Yeah. Who was the last person who made you smile?

PRISM: Another easy one. The kids at my Tae Kwon Do class. They get distracted so easily and lose interest fast, but they are the sweetest children EVER.

PRISM: Tae Kwon Do. You like it?

PRISM: Yeah, though I could fool you sometimes. It's a love-hate relationship, but it pays the bills.

PRISM: You don't pay any bills. Your awesome parents do.

PRISM: Well, it pays for the needs of Prism. Happy?

PRISM: No. I think you meant "wants of Prism".

PRISM: *sigh* Fine. Is this an interrogation or what?

PRISM: No, because you can't interrogate yourself.

PRISM: But you can interview yourself?

PRISM: Next question! How's your author life?

PRISM: Ha! It's nonexistent. I haven't written in a long while, and I've been racking my brain for more ideas. I'm laying off the book idea for now, and I'm concentrating on short stories. The whole scholarship thing again.

PRISM: Sorry.

PRISM: *sigh* I know. I just hope I'll get some ideas soon.

PRISM: So, if you had a good voice, who would you sound like?

PRISM: You mean, who I lip sync the most? There's a lot of people. Some days I wish I sounded like Joy Williams, others the BarlowGirl sisters, some Audrey Assad, others the lead singer of Superchick... You get the idea.

PRISM: You really wish you could sing, huh?

PRISM: You bet I do! I'd give almost anything for the vocal capacity to sing MercyMe's songs. That lead singer, he got some pipes!

PRISM: You poor soul.

PRISM: We can't all be amazing singers. Or, singers. Period.

PRISM: Well, I guess I've dragged this interview long enough.

PRISM: Can I have my watermelon now?

PRISM: Not Yet. We must bid our guests goodbye.

PRISM: See ya later, folks.

PRISM: Thanks for reading!

Interview: Becca!

This week our featured blogger is Becca, blogkeeper of chocolate+puppies+books+b(r)others=BECCA'S LIFE
Becca Leslie is an awesome gal of faith who has had more patience with me than what I deserve. I actually forgot about her interview, and Becca was gracious enough to gently remind me. So, thank you, Becca!
~*~
Now, to the interview, all!

Prism: What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Becca: Ooh, hard to say- I've done plenty of crazy things! =) I'd have to say that my dancing is probably the craziest thing about me. Which is why I never dance in public. At all. Never. Period.

Prism: What do you consider to be your talents/hobbies?
Becca: Everybody tells me that I'm a great writer. My math teacher was probably the most enthusiastic. I'm pretty sure that she thought that I was the next Rick Riordan or something! But seriously, I L-O-V-E to write. Seeing a freshly sharpened pencil and a blank Staples notebook makes my heart beat faster, ya know? I'm currently writing a twist on the nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb" for my little brothers. Mary's a secret agent, the lamb is actually a ferret with a bunch of cotton balls super-glued to it's fur, and- oops! My secrets are revealed! Sorry, I can't say much more about it anyway, it's nowhere near finished! As an after-thought, I realize that my only other hobby besides making up random words that don't mean anything is singing. I've been in a choir since I was like five. That's pretty long. I L-O-V-E to sing... here I go. I'm ranting again. *sigh* Anywho, my hobbies and talents are these: writing, singing, and making-up-random-words. =)

Prism: If you could be any animal, what would you be? Why?
Becca: Another toughie! I'd probably like to be a bird. They're so wild and free! Plus they can go wherever they want! I guess that ties into "free", huh? Anywho, I'd probably be a cardinal. Born and bred in St. Louis. And they're so bright and cool-looking! Yep, definitely a cardinal.

Prism: What is your favorite color?
Becca: Blue all the way!! *rock-out sign* Clear and bright skies, flowers, plus, it's just about the only color that looks good on me.

Prism: What are your plans this summer?
Becca: To chill with my peeps (or friends, if you use English instead of Becklish), attempt to get a tan without getting sunburned, play with my dog, and go to the beach with my church youth group for RYM (Reformed Youth Ministry).

Prism: How does your faith influence who you are as a person/blogger?
Becca: I think about what I'm writing a lot more on the blog. Also, I try to include things in my writing. Right now, I'm working on a post about my favorite Bible verse and what it means to me. I like to tell people about my church activities, and enjoy doing it. As a person in general, my faith reminds me not to judge people on first sight and other things that I tend to do a lot. It helps me sooo much on an everyday basis!

P: What was your favorite childhood game?
B: I was very imaginative as a child (I still am!), so my favorite game was make-believe. I would pretend to be a dog (of all things!!), and have people scratch me behind the ears or rub my belly. Ah, the good days. As in, "it's GOOD that they're over"!! =)

P: Are you an organized person?
B: Occasionally. (I'm so straight-forward, right?) Like I live without picking up anything in my room for a couple days, but come Saturday, I'll lock myself in and not come out 'til it's spotless. I guess I'm just that kind of person!

P: Thank you so, so much, Becca!

Randomness Friday: Sleep, Sleep, Where Art Thou?

(Thanks Libby!)

Sooo... *looks up drowsily* *yawns* Wait... why am I here???

OH! Randomness Friday! Welcome, welcome, welcome! I'd like to extend a special hello to my new followers. I really wish I knew who you were, but for the life of me, my handy dandy followers gadget is mixing up the new and the not-so-new-but-still-very-much-appreciated follower people! Let me tell you, though, I am very glad you are here! :)
~*~

So, sleeplessness. I've become way to familiar with it lately.

How do I know?
1. I can't fall asleep! (Well, duh, Prism)
2. I've become very forgetful
3. Slow
4. Tired during the day/ Wide awake at night
5. Lack of interest
6. I just feel bleh!

So, I don't know what it is, to be honest. When I finally do fall asleep, I'm plagued by these random, abstract dreams that drive me crazy! They're so random. Like some are so weird, some funny, and then some I wake up with tears on my pillow. I'm not sad or anything, I assure you.

I just wish the dreams would stop!

Ugh! >:(
~*~

So this week was normal, with one exception.

My dad got into a car accident. It wasn't his fault, and he's okay. A little sore still, but safe.

I wish I could say the same of the car...

Nothing official yet, but we think it is totally gone.

The front looks like a train hit the car head-on. Eek! Thank God my dad is okay.

But now my parents have a lot of insurance, car-buying, rental stuff, ect. to deal with.

Double ugh...
~*~

Fortunately, this week wasn't all frumpy faces and ughs!

I got the opportunity to teach Tae Kwon Do again to elementary-aged kids. It's so fun, and they're all so curious. Definitely cute-ness, though it's easy to get distracted for them.

Ah, the days of elementary school.
~*~

Sometimes, I wish that I could switch years around. Like my carefree years of elementary and middle school? Let 'em come now! Less stress, more time to write...

I know it sounds ridiculous, but it made sense in my head XD
~*~

Back to sleeplessness. What have I been doing?

Prism's Not-So-Effective-But-Nonethless-Soothing Sleepless Nights "Cures"*:

1. CHOCOLATE milk. Cold, with whipped cream on top. And, if you're feeling really evil, sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top! Guilty pleasure for me, but it is oh-so-yummy.

2. ORANGE juice. When I am feeling angelic, I ditch the chocolate milk and grab a tall glass of orange-ness. I prefer sweet orange juice, pulp doesn't matter for me.

3. ICE cold water. Another guilty pleasure. Why? I love munching on ice. And every time I do that, I get a lecture from my mom.

Our conversation usually goes like this:

Mom: Prism, you are going to ruin the enamel of your teeth.
Me: Sorry. But at least I'm not eating my chocolate delight.
Mom: True...

*Okay, so these aren't really cures, but they make me happy. Sad when food and drink items make me happy, but I choose to ignore that fact.

Anyways, that's all for this week! See y'all soon!

Review of Beyond Opinion: A Teen's Perspective

Beyond Opinion by Ravi Zacharias is a book that brilliantly addresses apologetics and equips the reader with more understanding of sharing and defending the Christian faith.

I first became interested in this book because my parents are listeners and supporters of Mr. Zacharias's ministry (RZIM) and teachings. His teachings also very much impressed me, so I decided to read Beyond Opinion. I was not disappointed in the least.

This book is made up of sections by different people who have worked alongside Mr. Zacharias and are definitely qualified for the subjects they write about. Some authors include Alister McGrath, John Lennox, and, of course, Ravi Zacharias.

Some sections are:
~ Postmodern Challenges and the Bible
~ Challenges from Islam
~ Challenges from Science
~ Conversational Apologetics
~ Existential Challenges of Evil and Suffering

My favorite sections include Challenges from Atheism (by Alister McGrath) and Challenges from Youth (by Alison Thomas). I have previously learned about atheism in my Christian curriculum, and I believe Mr. McGrath presents his views in a very comprehensive way. Challenges from Youth was so relatable for me, because I completely understand what Ms. Thomas conveys. The modern Christian youth culture is often so lukewarm, bland, and so let's-feel-good-together. Ms. Thomas emphasizes a need for youth today to be interested in apologetics, and rightly so.

The subjects in this book are highly equipping. I felt as if I learned a lot, and I know that I can speak more comfortably about my faith with others I know. I now understand some others religions and beliefs, and I know I can speak as a person who is compassionate and educated. This books gives a broad overview on many subjects, so I believe it can be helpful for youth.

I highly recommend Beyond Opinion to everyone, even teenagers. Yes, it may be a little dry at times, but certainly if one can spend several hours on end reading the latest fiction book, can one not take time to read a book with real substance?

I recommend reading this book chapter at a time, slowly, to take everything in. Also, keep a dictionary at hand. My previous education in apologetics and Biblical doctrines helped me understand a lot of the language in Beyond Opinion. If you are a teen new to apologetics, I suggest consulting with a trusted adult from time to time to discuss Beyond Opinion's content and perhaps even share ideas. This book may be a high-level read, but it is definitely what I have personally been searching for in my reading material.

At last, I have found substance! I am sure many teens will also find this book educating and uplifting. I wouldn't be surprised if teens who read this book felt even more grounded in their faith. That's definitely one thing about this book for me- I felt even more grounded in my faith as a Christian.

I highly recommend Beyond Opinion to readers interested in apologetics, theology, and becoming more grounded in their Christian faith.

I rate this book five out of five stars. Excellent!

Review of Perfectly Dateless!

Perfectly Dateless by Kristin Billerbeck is the story of a high school girl whose goal is to find perfection in time for prom. Meet Daisy Crispin and her plan of action, Operation Prom Date. Find the perfect guy, find the perfect dress, find the right personality, and find the right time to get her not-so-normal parents to let her go to prom. Sounds easy enough, and Daisy has a beautiful 196 days to get there. But it might be harder than it sounds. You see, Daisy's life is anything but perfect.

To say in the least, Daisy Crispin is an unique character if I ever saw one. Homemade clothing, knack for remembering random facts, and general charm. Daisy does have some major problems with her ideal life in the beginning, but everything pulls together in the end in a way that was beautiful. Daisy learns to respect her somewhat eccentric but well-meaning parents, learn that people are not always as they seem, and that waiting for the right Prince Charming is a good idea. The lessons Daisy learns are valuable for teen girls, and I have to say, I appreciated that. The people in Daisy's life (for the most part) help her along the way. My favorite character would have to be Gil, Daisy's boss at a check-printing company. He's like a lot of guys and he seems to be the most believable character in the book, as he acts like a big brother and confidant to Daisy.

Because a huge change in Daisy's attitude does take place, that means that Daisy's life starts out as a thunderstorm about to wreack havoc. The poor girl is drooling over a "perfect" dude, hating her parents, and willing to do anything to become beautiful in the sight of others. Even if that means hiding things from the people closest to her. But again, everything works out in the end, so its all good. Although, I never felt full satisfaction that Daisy was fully changed.

Perfectly Dateless is a story of a modern-day, nerdy Cinderella who meets her Prince Charming in the most unlikely fashion.

I recommend this book to girls 14 and up.

All in all, I give this book 4 stars out of a possible 5.

Review of Premiere!

Premiere by Melody Carlson is the fashion-charged story of two sisters who are pushed into the spotlight. Paige Forrester, the older of the two, is a natural when it comes to being in front of cameras. She's beautiful and has incredible fashion knowledge. Erin Forrester, on the other hand, enjoys being behind the scenes, operating cameras to record others. When Paige makes a mistake on public television, the girls are soon surprised when they are given the opportunity of a lifetime- to enjoy the glitz and glamor of their own fashion TV show!

Can the girls put aside their differences and work together?

I enjoyed the sisterly bond between Erin and Paige. The girls do have their moments of anger, but they stick together through it all. Erin is a girl many can relate to- she's average in many respects and has issues with her image and who she is. I appreciate how Erin's faith influences her throughout the story to lead a good example for her family (her mom and sister are not Christians) and to make wise choices that are apparent to everyone. I appreciate that, unlike some previous Melody Carlson books like the Carter House Girls, Premiere stays away from the heavy mentioning of some ugly things in the teen world. The only thing in the book is about some underage drinking at a high-profile party, and Erin (who is the main character) looks at it with a negative attitude. She refuses to take part in it, and that I applaud.

However, I have to admit the storyline was a bit dull for me. It sort of rambled on, with girl drama here and there. I didn't feel like there was a huge adventure or change in this story, as the girls had grown up with parents working in the TV world. I believe fashion-savvy girls would enjoy this book to some degree, as brand names and designers are mentioned throughout Premiere. I, not being into fashion, sort of skimmed over the designer names because I've never heard of any of them before.

I recommend this book to fashionistas age 13 and up.

All in all, I give this book two stars out of a possible five.

Randomness Friday: Disney World?!

Wow. How can I even begin to describe my trip to Florida? It was incredible to say in the least. I got to go to Downtown Disney, Epcot, Magic Kingdom in Disney World, and I'll give y'all a look at the theme parks, Prism style.

*cheesy music*
Announcer: It is now time for Prism's timely tips! Presented by, Prism! And now, here's Prism!!!!
*music ends*

Okay, so I pretty much spent a day at each park, and yes, that was the perfect time. I recommend that if you ever go, plan four (or more) days just to visit the theme parks. There is Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. In addition, you can visit Downtown Disney (shopping and eating area) and the two Disney water parks (Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon). There is also a Sea World and Universal Studios park nearby, so it all depends on how much time, money, energy, and travel abilities you have.

*end of cheesy music*

Anyway, Day One!
~*~

Day One:

(Hotel room, morning, three girls talking)

Prism: So, what are we doing today?
Prism's Friend: I dunno...
Prism's Friend 2: Hey, how about Downtown Disney?

*all cheer and head out of the hotel, laughing and singing Prism's Friend 2's praises*

Yes, if you can believe it, day one consisted of nothing but Downtown Disney (actually, not really, but it was the biggie of the day)

So, if you stay at one of Disney's hotels, you get free transportation all around the Disney World area. Of course, being as we took a plane to Florida and didn't have the money to rent a car, we all took advantage of the buses.

It wasn't a long drive to Downtown Disney, if I remember correctly, and we went in the afternoon.

My recommendation? Do Downtown Disney in the night! It's much cooler then (temperature and cool-factor) and there are twinkly lights everywhere! Downtown Disney just seems to come to life!

By the way, be sure to take a group of people with you wherever you go, ESPECIALLY at night. Safety in numbers, better to be safe than sorry, and yes, I know I'm not your mother!

*sniff* But you are loved. Just as if you were my own.

Any-way! Moving on, people, moving on.

So, Downtown Disney. Good for eating, shopping, and entertainment (but you probably will spend a lot of money). Biggest thing: Pictures, pictures, pictures! This place has PLENTY of awesome photo ops.

Recommended:

~Characters in Flight: Get to go up to 400 ft above in a giant tethered balloon. See a magnificent view of the parks! (I didn't get to do this because my none of my friends would join me. I really wish I did, though!!!)

~World of Disney: A HUGE shopping stop for all things Disney World. I had a great time at this store. Seriously, do most (if not all) of your souvenir shopping here.

~Orlando Harley-Davidson: Get some pictures with cool bikes or buy Harley-Davidson stuff!

~Lego Imagination Center: Again, plenty of cool photo ops! See huge Lego sculptures!

~The Art of Disney: See animation in action. Even if you're not buying stuff, you'll still love it.

Stop in as many places as you can if you get to go, especially, if you're a window-shopping type of person. There's plenty of stuff guys, girls, young, and old will enjoy!

Oh, and admission to Downtown Disney is free.
~*~

Day Two:

(Girls are in the pool)

Prism: So, any plans?
Prism's Friend 2: Well, we do have two-day passes to the Disney parks...
Prism's Friend: Epcot, Epcot, or Epcot?
Prism: That's a real toughie... But, oh! *nearly splashes out of the pool in a moment of seeming epiphany* I've got it, comrades! Epcot! Why don't we go to Epcot???
Prism's Friend 2: You guys are lucky I hang around you.

Epcot it was! We again took the free bus to Epcot!

Epcot is divided into two areas, Future World and World
Showcase. I recommend going to Future World first, as that is where all of the lines build up.

Now, Disney has invented this amazing thing for rides... It's called a FAST PASS!

What? Why aren't you cheering? Huh? HUH?

Fast pass: A beautiful, free little ticket that pops out of a machine when you swipe your park ticket! You get a special timing, and if you go to the attraction during that time, you get to bypass all of the poor waiting people and get into the ride!

Yeah, BABY! :)

So, we did fast passes for a lot of things, and it works well to plan out things.

Now, for my recommendations!

~Spaceship Earth: Spaceship Earth is a slow ride through Epcot's famous golfball dome. See the earth through time and even yourself... in the future. Okay, y'all. I'll be honest. I hated this ride. For starters, it's slow, dark, and pretty uneventful. It also starts from the beginning of earth, which in the world's eyes, is macroevolution. Big surprise there, I know. But the animatronics is amazing, and you'll get to tell all of your friends that you went into a mega golf ball!

~Epcot Character Spot: Meet characters, duh! ;)

~Turtle Talk With Crush: The little dudes will love this one, but I was pretty amazed too. I mean, CRUSH of FINDING NEMO can actually talk to you! Like, "Hey, Alex, nice blue shell (shirt)." I felt three again... *smiles blissfully* Okay, not really. But it was still cool.

~Soarin': THE must do of Epcot. Feel like you are in a hang glider as you travel from see to shining sea! It's truly like you are there, flying over places. I REALLY recommend it. But a word to the wise, don't wear flip flops! Several people had theirs come off!

~Mission: SPACE: And incredible ride. Experience the feeling of riding in a REAL spacecraft and being in a flight crew aboard it. When the spacecraft "blasts off" you actually feel it. I thought my lungs were going to collapse, but my friends and I were laughing hysterically through the whole thing.

~Test Track: Be a test dummy as you test drive a GM vehicle. Go through bumpy roads, fast turns, and unbelievable speeds! I loved this ride. My friends and I were again laughing hysterically.

That's the end of Future World for the most part, but the World Showcase is really up to you if you decide to go.Sample some of the culture by talking to people really from the countries and eat some good native food!

Countries:

~Mexico
~Norway
~China
~Germany
~Italy
~Japan
~Morocco
~France
~United Kingdom
~Canada
~America!!!

The nighttime is a time of fireworks and lasers. I highly recommend staying for the nightly show. Simply incredible.
~*~

Day Three:

(Girls are sleeping in their room)

Prism: *bolts upright in bed* I know where I want to go today.
Prism's Friend: *sleepily* Where?
Prism: Disney's Magic Kingdom!
Prism's Friend 2: *grin* Now you're talking!

Off to the blue castle!

Definitely plan to spend a whole day here. Yep, from opening to closing, this park has a LOT to offer.

Recommendations:

~Pirates of the Caribbean: Go through this ride to the world of pirates galore! See if you can spot Jack Sparrow along the way.

~Splash Mountain: Ride through an adventure with Brer Rabbit until you plunge FIVE stories. I was screaming my head off, y'all.

~Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: Board a runaway train! This was probably my favorite ride in Disney World. Fast, fast, fast, and fast!

~Haunted Mansion: It could be scary for the little ones, but I was more amazed at all of the technological wonders! (Yes, alas, my nerd side has come out)

~Mickey's PhilharMagic: A 3D movie that'll make you feel like you're really there with the characters! Incredible-ness!

~Mad Tea Party: Not for those with motion sickness! Whirl around and around in teacups!

~Space Mountain: An indoor roller coaster- in the dark! You never know which was the roller coaster will turn, but, be sure to hang onto your belongings!

DEFINITELY take pictures with whatever characters you run into.

I had a blast there, and I hope those of you who have not yet had the opportunity to go will go soon!

Incredible! Awesome! Sah-weet!

So that was my trip. Hope I didn't bore you...

Fireworks of Forgiveness: Part Two

This tale is continued from yesterday's post. If you'd like to read, just scroll on down to Part One.
 ~*~

Jason stopped and stared. "Grace?" he whispered.

Grace hopped off of the pew and grabbed her purse. "I'm sorry, I'll be going now."

"No, wait!" Jason grabbed her arm. "Grace, I haven't seen you since... since graduation. Can we talk?"

Grace looked up at Jason. How he had changed in four years. A heavy sadness came over her, and she slowly nodded. They both sat down on her pew and Jason, always the conversationalist, began talking.

"It's great seeing you again, Grace," he said, softly. "The church has missed you in the nursery and youth group." He chuckled. "The food fight picture in still up on the Wall of Weird."

Grace couldn't help but grin. "Worst idea we ever had."

"Are you kidding me?" Jason was full-out laughing now. "I was sneezing ketchup for weeks."

An uncomfortable silence settled between them for a few minutes.

"So, Grace, why aren't you at the fireworks?"

She glared at him. "I could ask you the same thing."

Jason leaned back and propped his feet up on the pew in front of them. "It was the weirdest thing. I was about to go there, but then I get this feeling like I forgot to do something." He glanced at Grace. "Since I'm going into the seminary, the church lets me do a lot of things, like closing the church and coming whenever I want to."

"And?" Grace turned to face Jason.

Jason closed his eyes and smiled. "I came back to see what I had forgotten. Apparently, God was telling me that I had forgotten to talk to you. For four long years."

Grace groaned and thumped back against the pew. "Jason..."

"Listen to me, Grace. You've been hiding long enough. Why not accept Josh's death? He's in Heaven now."

"I know!" Grace yelled. "I've heard it all, Jason. But it's all my fault Josh is gone. If I had watched him better, I could have stopped everything. The pain, the mean looks, his death."

"Wait... you're guilty? All this time, I thought you were blaming G-"

"What, Jason? You thought I was just ignoring the church because I blamed God? I let God down, I was the one who let my family down!" Grace buried her face in her hands. "How could I show my face here when I knew everyone knew it was all my fault?"

Jason leaned in closer, his face completely serious. "I want to hear it from you, Grace. Tell me what happened that day."

"Fine." Grace let her shoulders sag. "It was in the afternoon, and you know back then we were allowed to light fireworks in our backyards?"

Grace saw that Jason was nodding.

"Well, I was supposed to watch Josh and Bridgette to make sure they stayed away from the backyard while my dad cooked and Drake set up the fireworks. Mom was out shopping for last-minute decorations, and she made Drake go with her. So Bridgette and Jason start playing pet pretend games, and I thought they'd keep doing that, since it usually took them hours alone to figure out who would be the animal and who would be the owner."

Jason smiled at her. "Just like we did when we were little."

Grace nodded. "So they were playing, and I was like, they're going to be okay. It's fine if I call Jess and see what she planned to wear, because she was so into fashion and I so wasn't. I was just talking to her for a few minutes, but the two had somehow managed to get outside. The next thing I knew, I heard Bridge scream and then there was a huge kaboom. I saw the flash of light at the same time, and then Bridge comes running in with her clothes on fire." She sniffed. "I started screaming Josh's name and dumped water on Bridge. Next thing I know, there are firefighters and medics everywhere. I-I was so confused, I had no clue that Josh was gone. I kept screaming for him, asking where he was. But then one of the guys came up to me."

"Oh, Grace." Jason groaned.

"He said that Josh was gone instantly."

"But you said you blame yourself? How could you have known that they would do that?"

"Jason, I disobeyed my parents. They told me to watch the little ones! In doing that, I disobeyed God."

"Yup."

"I deserved to be punished!"

"Agreed. But what happened to Josh was an accident. Did you know what would happen?"

"No! If I did, I never would have left them!"

"Mistakes were made, Grace. I wholeheartedly agree. But you've been suffering all these years. Didn't it ever occur to you that God is a forgiving God?"

"Yeah, yeah, I've heard it all. But what I did is a biggie."

"But what God did is a 'biggie' too. Remember? He gave up his life for the mistakes we made. You can't keep living like this, Gracie," he said, using her childhood nickname. "We've all missed you so much. Have you even spoken to your parents lately?"

"Well, no. I keep remembering the pain on their faces. I took their child away from them!"

"You didn't take Josh away from them; it was an accident on your part. Remember, God has a plan in everything. Joshua is in Heaven now. But I agree that you are taking a child away from your parents. You've deprived them of their daughter, Grace. They miss you."

Jason took both of her hands now. "God is ready to forgive you, Grace. He's given you grace beyond what you deserve. That's God. But forgiveness is sort of a two way thing. Do you accept it?"

"What?"

"God loves you. Seriously. Why turn your back on him when He's willing to forgive you?"

"You want me to pray to Him?" Grace squeaked. "It's been so long, I-"

"Please do it, Gracie. I'm here for you. Even better, God's here for you."

"Okay." Grace looked towards the front of the church, where a huge, wood cross hung. She smiled and bowed her head, talking with One who understood her more than she understood herself. When she looked up at last, she smiled at Jason with happy tears.

"Well?" he said.

"Let's go outside. I want to show you something," Grace whispered to him.

She took his hand and let him through the big church doors, to where the fireworks were still taking place.

"That's what it feels like, Jason. It's like I'm exploding with joy! Colors, bright colors, instead of the dark night."

Jason smiled down at her, and Grace knew he understood. "Fireworks of forgiveness, huh?"
